A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF
BUNCHE PARK RECREATIONAL CENTER AND ALLOCATING
FUNDS FROM COUNCILMAN ROBERT STEPHENS SEAT 6
PUBLIC NINEOF THE AMOUNTACCOUNTAFFAIRSIN
HUNDRED EITHGTY DOLLARS ($980.00) FOR POLICE
SERVICES IN SUPPORT OF HIS PARTNERSHIP WITH
CALVARY CHAPEL NORTH MIAMI FOR THEIR BACK TO
SCHOOL BASH AND BOOKBAG GIVEAWAY; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Calvary Chapel North Miami plans to provide over 1,000 bookbags,
resources, and supplies to the community as they partner together with Councilman
Stephens for their annual back to school bash and bookbag giveaway on Saturday,
August 20th, 2022 at Bunche Park Recreational Complex, and
WHEREAS, this is an opportunity for members of the community to build positive
relationships and get an early start on back-to-school preparation, and
WHEREAS, the aim of the back to school bash and bookbag giveaway is to provide
the community’s elementary, middle, and high school students with school supplies for
the upcoming school year at no cost to their families, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Robert Stephens, III is requesting the waiving of costs for
the utilization of the Bunche Park Recreational Gymnasium and paying associated
staffing costs from the Seat 6 Public Affairs Accounts and Staff services in an amount not
to exceed nine hundred eighty dollars ($980) in support of Councilman Stephens
partnership with Calvary Chapel North Miami’ Back to School Bash and Bookbag
Giveaway,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the use of Bunche Park Recreational Facility and an allocation of
$980.00 from the Seat 6 Public Affairs for Police Services in support his partnership with
Calvary Chapel North Miami for their annual Back to School Bash and Bookbag
Giveaway.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
