A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO EMERGENCY
VEHICLES, 2023AOF NEWTHEFOR INC.,PURCHASE
32M2FREIGHTLINER CHASSIS,-COMMANDFT MOBILE
VEHICLE (MCV), IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN HUNDRED
THOUSAND AND FOURTEEN, EIGHT HUNDRED AND
SEVENTY FOUR DOLLARS ($714,874.00), AUTHORIZING A
WAIVER OF COMPETITIVE BIDDING PURSUANT TO SECTION
2-757 OF THE PROCUREMENT CODE; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF AFOR PROVIDING REPRESENTATIONS;N
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, during the July 13, 2022 City Council Meeting, the City Council
authorized the City Manager to expend an amount not to exceed $552,737.00 from the
State Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) account, and an amount not to exceed
$162,137.00 from the Federal LETF account for a total of $714,874.00 to purchase a new
2023 Freightliner M2 Chassis, 32-Ft Mobile Command Vehicle (MCV), and
WHEREAS, the City purchased an MCV in 2009 that is reaching the end of life,
and
WHEREAS, City’s MCV is a critical element utilized by the Police Department
during various incidents and events including, natural and human-caused critical
incidents, training, preplanned and spontaneous law enforcement details, and public
engagements, and
WHEREAS, the new MCV will include enhanced features allowing direct
communication with the Real-Time Crime Center as well as enhanced security cameras,
dispatch consoles, and smart board type technology,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Emergency Vehicles
Inc. for the purchase of a new 2023 Freightliner M2 chassis, 32-FT MCV, in the amount
of Seven Hundred Thousand and Fourteen, Eight Hundred and Seventy Four dollars
($714,874.00), and authorizes a waiver of competitive bidding pursuant to section 2-757
of the Procurement Code.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
