A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO UTILIZE THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS CITY
HALL COURTYARD FOR THE LAUNCHING OF THE ADRIENNE
ARSHT COMMUNITY MUSICAL SEASON FEATURING THE
“SINGING IN THE STREETS” POP-UP SERIES; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts is located in the
heart of downtown Miami, and recognized as one of the largest performing arts centers
in the United States, and
WHEREAS, the Arsht Center is committed to engaging and connecting people
from every corner of the community through artistic excellence and inspiring educational
experiences, and
WHEREAS, the Arsht Center features innovative programming that spotlights
artists from around the world for the uniquely diverse residents of Miami-Dade County
that includes thousands of children each year, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Katrina Wilson, proposes to host the launching of the
“Singing in the Streets” pop-up series in partnership with the Adrienne Arsht Center on
Saturday, October 8, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., at the City of Miami Gardens City Hall Courtyard,
and
WHEREAS, this event will mark the start of the Arsht Center’s community musical
season with two of Miami’s best ensembles featuring an award-winning Super Choir
hailing from six regions and 13 cities in Florida, in a pop-up performance to touch the
hearts, minds and souls of the community through music, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Wilson is requesting the authorization of the City
Manager to utilize the City of Miami Gardens City Hall Courtyard and any additional
resources necessary to host “Singing in the Streets” pop-up series,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to utilize the City of Miami Gardens City Hall
Courtyard for the launching of the Adrienne Arsht Community Musical Season featuring
the “Singing in the Streets” pop-up series.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2022.
