A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING A BID TO PARAGON
CONSTRUCTION UNLTD INC. FOR DEMOLITION SERVICES
RELATED TO BRENTWOOD POOL IN RESPONSE TO
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATION (RFQ) NUMBER 19-20-004;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT AS NEEDED FOR THIS PURPOSE
FOR AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($255,100.00); PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on March 11, 2020, City Council adopted Resolution No. 2020-036-
3435, awarding a bid for a prequalified list of contractors in response RFQ No. 19-20-004
for Demolition Services citywide, and
WHEREAS, on August 16, 2022, staff issued a Request for Quotation from two
(2) of the prequalified contractors for demolition services related to Brentwood pool, and
WHEREAS, on September 7, 2022, a Request for Quotation from a third
prequalified contractor for demolition services was requested for a more competitive bid,
and
WHEREAS, in response to the request, three (3) quotes were received from Chin
Diesel, Inc., Paragon Construction UNLTD, Inc; and Thunder Demolition, Inc., and
WHEREAS, City staff evaluated the quotes for compliance with the specifications
and recommends award of this contract be made to the lowest qualified, responsive,
responsible bidder based upon the lowest total price, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to
negotiate and execute a contract for an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty-Five
Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($255,100.00) with Paragon Construction UNLTD, Inc.
to provide demolition services related to the Brentwood pool.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute a contract for an amount

not to exceed Two Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand One Hundred Dollars ($255,100.00) with
Paragon Construction UNLTD, Inc.to provide demolition services related to the
Brentwood pool.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 26, 2022.
