A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA,ACCEPTING A THIRTY
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($30,000.00) GRANT AWARD, FROM
THE OFCOPYAFITNESSCAMPAIGN NATIONAL (NFC);
AS “A”;EXHIBIT TOHERETO ATTACHED ISWHICH
AUTHORIZING A MATCH OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE
HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND
FIFTY DOLLARS ($112,350.00) WITH THE GRANT, FOR A
COMBINED TWOFORTY HUNDRED TOTAL OF ONE
FIFTY DOLLARSANDTHOUSANDTHREEHUNDRED
($142,350.00), FOR THE COST OF THE OUTDOOR FITNESS
COURT AT BRENTWOOD PARK LOCATED AT 18800 NW 28
PLACE; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE ACCEPTANCE
OF THIS AWARD; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens was selected to be awarded a Thirty
Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) grant for the Outdoor Fitness Court as part of the National
Fitness Campaign, and
WHEREAS, the City is contributing One Hundred Twelve Thousand Three
Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($112,350.00) toward the overall cost of One Hundred Forty-
Two FitnessNational ($142,350.00) Dollars andHundredThreeThousand Fifty
Campaign is a social enterprise and consulting firm that partners with cities, schools,
corporations and design firms to fund and build outdoor Fitness Courts®, and improve
the quality of life in America, and
WHEREAS, the Fitness Court® will bring world class outdoor fitness to Miami
Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the 1,000 square foot outdoor fitness court will comprise of seven
functional training zones, and
WHEREAS, the Fitness Court is handicap accessible and will be available free of
charge to all residents and will be open during regularly scheduled park hours,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby accepts a Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) grant award, from the National
Fitness Campaign (NFC); a copy of which is attached hereto to as Exhibit “A”. The City
Council further authorizes a match of funds in the amount of One Hundred Twelve
Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($112,350.00) with the grant, for a combined
total of One Hundred Forty-Two Thousand Three Hundred and Fifty Dollars
($142,350.00), for the cost of the outdoor fitness court at Brentwood Park located at
18800 NW 28th Avenue, and authorizes the City Manager to execute any and all
documents related to the acceptance of this award.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 26, 2022.
