A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, RATIFYING AND APPROVING
THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
DADE COUNTY POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION AND
THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA FOR THE PERIOD
NUNC PRO TUNC FROM OCTOBER 1, 2021 THROUGH
SEPTEMBER 30, 2024; ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 16, 2011, the Florida Public Employees Relations
Commission (PERC) recognized the Police Benevolent Association, hereinafter referred
to as “the Union” as the bargaining agent for those employees included within the certified
bargaining unit described in PERC Certification Number 1781, and
WHEREAS, is unit bargainingthe compr thein employees of City ised
classifications of Police Officer I, Police Officer II, Police Officer III, Police Sergeant I,
Police Sergeant II, and Police Sergeant III, and
WHEREAS, the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, entered into by the City
of Miami Gardens and the Union expired on September 30, 2021, and
WHEREAS, on October 11, 2022, the Union tentatively agreed to the terms of a
proposed Collective Bargaining Agreement with the City of Miami Gardens, hereto
attached as exhibit “A”, by vote of its members and it was subsequently ratified by the
Bargaining Unit on October 12, 2022, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the City Council ratify and
approve the collective bargaining agreement between the Police Benevolent Association
and the City of Miami Gardens, Florida for the period Nunc Pro Tunc from October 1,
2021 through September 30, 2024,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: APPROVAL: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby
ratifies theapproves and Co thebetweenAgreement Bargaining Policellective
Benevolent Association and the City of Miami Gardens, Florida for a period Nunc Pro
Tunc from October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
