A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING INVITATION TO BID
(ITB) NO. 21-22-031 TO WEED A WAY INC., FOR CANAL RIGHT
OF WAY LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE, AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS IN THE
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THE BUDGETED AMOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on July 27, 2022, Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 21-22-031, Canal Right
of Way Landscape Maintenance was solicited via Bidsync, inviting qualified firms to
submit proposals to provide Canal Right of Way Landscape Maintenance, and
WHEREAS, in response to the ITB, proposals were received from three (3)
proposers: Crodon, Inc, SFL Property Maintenance Corporation and Weed A Way, Inc.,
and
WHEREAS, on August 25, 2022, a bid opening was held and staff evaluated the
proposals for compliance.Staff tabulated both pricing sheets and conducted
responsiveness and responsibility reviews of the firms and deemed Weed A Way, Inc. as
the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, bid tabulation sheets are attached hereto as
Exhibit “A”, and
WHEREAS, the bid provided for an initial term of contract for one (1) year and the
City has the right to exercise the option to renew annually (subject to the appropriation of
funds) a maximum of four (4) one (1) year periods, and
WHEREAS, staff recommends that the City Council award ITB Number 21-22-031,
Canal Right of Way Landscape Maintenance and authorize the City Manager to issue
Purchase Order(s) as needed not to exceed the budgeted amount,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order not to exceed the budgeted
amount to Weed A Way, Inc. for Canal Right of Way Landscape Maintenance.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
