A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN
AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-
SEVEN DOLLARS AN NINETY CENT ($377.90) IN SUPPORT OF
THE EDUCATDELTA CULTURALANDHEALTH, IONAL,
INITIATIVE, INCORPORATED’S “DELTAPALOOZA”, NUNC PRO
TUNC; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated’s, Miami Alumnae Chapter
has served the South Florida and provided public service through established programs
in the local community since its charter in 1941, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Alumnae Chapter created the Delta Educational, Health,
and Cultural Initiative, Incorporated to promote cultural, educational, and health related
services and programs through collaborative ventures to enrich the South Florida
community, and
WHEREAS, their service mainly focuses on economic development, educational
development, international awareness and involvement, physical and mental health, and
political awareness and involvement, and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, September 16, 2022, at Edwards Hall, the organization
hosted its annual “Deltapalooza” Fundraising Gala for scholarships, chapter programs,
and community initiatives, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens is requesting the allocation of Three Hundred
Seventy-Seven Dollars and Ninety Cent ($377.90) from the Seat 6 Special Events
account to support the Delta Educational, Health, and Cultural Initiative, Incorporated’s
“DELTAPALOOZA”, nunc pro tunc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of Three Hundred Seventy-Seven Dollars and Ninety
Resolution No. 2022-132-3843

Cent ($377.90) from the Seat 6 Special Events Account to support the Delta Educational,
Health, and Cultural Initiative, Incorporated’s “DELTAPALOOZA”, nunc pro tunc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2022.
