A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA , ALLOCATING FUNDS TO THE
RJT FOUNDATION, RIVERVIEW WATCHERS
NEIGHBORHOOD CRIME WATCH, AND CRESTVIEW/ROLLING
OAKS CRIME WATCH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) FROM MAYOR
HARRIS’ SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting the City Council authorize funds
to be donated to the RJT Foundation, Riverview Watchers Neighborhood Crime watch
and Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime watch organizations in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, RJT Foundation, Incorporated is a 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit
organization reaching out to families who have endured the pain of losing a child as a
result of a violent act of crime, and
WHEREAS, Riverview Watchers Neighborhood Crime watch and Crestview
Rolling Oaks Crime watch organizations consist of a group of concerned Miami Garden's
resident volunteers who are focused on the reduction of crime and assisting our Public
safety division, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harris is recommending each donation amount be as follows
for a total amount of three thousand dollars ($3,000):
•RJT Foundation - $2,000.00
•Riverview Watch Crime Watch - $500.00
•Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime Watch - $500.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) as outlined in this
Resolution to RJT Foundation ($2,000), Riverview Watchers Neighborhood Crime Watch
($500), and Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime Watch ($500).
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
