A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
THE INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE COUNTY
FOR MAINTENANCEAND OFTHEINSTALLATION
WAYFINDING SIGNS; A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED
HERETO AS EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO
THE ADOPTION OFTHE CITY PROVIDING CLERK; FOR
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City has begun work on developing a comprehensive community
wayfinding program to assist residents and visitors in navigating the City to regional and
local destinations within the City of Miami Gardens as defined by Florida Department of
Transportation (FDOT) and Miami-Dade County standards, and
WHEREAS, the conceptual designs have been drafted and the permit application
package has been submitted to Miami-Dade County and FDOT for approval, and
WHEREAS, the planning, design, installation, and maintenance of all community
wayfinding rthetheirassemblies andsigns guide are localtheof esponsibility
government, including those on the state highway system, and
WHEREAS, therefore, Miami-Dade County is requesting the City to enter into an
agreement to accept responsibility for the maintenance of the signs within the City of
Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the proposed interlocal agreement will allow the City to install and
maintain the wayfinding signs on the right of way,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and attest Interlocal
Agreement with Miami-Dade County for the installation and maintence of wayfinding
signs.
Section 3: INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK: The City Clerk is hereby
authorized to obtain two (2) fully executed copies of the subject Agreement with one to
be maintained by the City, and one to be delivered to Miami Dade County.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 14, 2022.
