A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
EVENTSJULIEN'S SPECIALCOUNCILWOMAN LINDA
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE THOUSAND,
FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY NINE DOLLARS AND 40 CENTS
($5,579.40), FOR THE MIAMI FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL GIVE
MIAMI DAY; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, one of the nation's biggest 24-hour annual giving events, Give Miami
Day is an online campaign that benefits various non-profits in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the entire community is invited to explore and contribute to the profiles
of hundreds of non-profits in Miami Gardens and throughout the County, and
WHEREAS, since 2012, Give Miami Day has raised millions of dollars in charitable
donations, contributing to the growth of non-profits in Miami Gardens that provide wrap
around services in the fields of finance, healthcare and nutrition, to name a few, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an allocation of five thousand, five
hundred seventy nine dollars and 40 cents ($5,579.40) from the Seat 5 Special Events
account for Give Miami Day, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Special Events Account
in the amount of five thousand, five hundred seventy nine dollars and 40 cents ($5,579.40)
for Give Miami Day.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 14, 2022.
