A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER FOR AN AMOUNT
NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-THREE THOUSAND
SIX HUNDRED THIRTY AND THIRTEEN CENTS ($133,630.13)
PER YEAR FOR A THREE YEAR PERIOD TO DELL INC. FOR
THE LEASING OF TWO HUNDRED (200)LAPTOP
OFTHEADOPTION PROVIDING COMPUTERS;FOR
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, currently the City of Miami Gardens purchases computers from Dell
Inc. for use by its employees, and
WHEREAS, under the current purchasing model, as time passes equipment
begins to run slowly; becomes costly to repair or irreparable; is no longer covered under
the by supportedlonger nocoverageprogram; accidental or warranty and the
manufacturer; and
WHEREAS, to reduce costs and acquire a larger amount of computers and
equipment, staff seeks to utilize the Personal Computer as a Service (PCAAS) Program
by Dell Inc. whereby the City would lease 200 laptop computers at once for a three (3)
year period, and
WHEREAS, under the PCAAS Program, services of the lease would include
support, maintenance, accidental coverage, remote wiping and collection of cycled
laptops at the end of the lease, and
WHEREAS, the cost of the lease is $133,630.13 annually for the three year
period, with the option to purchase, return the computers or renew the lease upon
expiration of the term and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order for an amount not to
exceed One Hundred Thirty-Three Thousand Six Hundred Thirty and Thirteen Cents
($133,630.13) per year for a three-year period to Dell Inc. for the leasing of 200 laptop
computers.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
