A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS,FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
AFFAIRSPUBLIC JULIEN'SLINDA COUNCILWOMAN
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($1,000.00) TO THE ISSIAH JOHN EDWARDS
LEGACY FOUNDATION, INC; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien, in an effort to support charitable organizations
in Miami Gardens, would like to donate funds to the Issiah John Edwards Legacy
Foundation, Inc., and
WHEREAS, The John Edwards Legacy Foundation was established in 2018 and
offers scholarship opportunities for African American and Latino American students that
reside in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, This donation will assist the foundation in fulfilling its commitment of
service to the youth of Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an allocation of one thousand
dollars ($1,000.00) from the Seat 5’s Public Affairs account to the Issiah John Edwards
Legacy Foundation, Inc., and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports the allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Public Affairs
Account in the amount of two hundred and fifty dollars ($1,000.00) to the Issiah John
Edwards Legacy Foundation, Inc.,
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 11, 2023.
