A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FISCAL YEAR 2022-
2023 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (“CDBG”)
PUBLIC SERVICE FUNDS TO MT. PISGAH CHURCH, KRISTI
HOUSE, INC., EXPERTS RESOURCE COMMUNITY CENTER,
INC., SUNSHINE FOR ALL, INC., PROSPERITY SOCIAL &
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (NOW PROJECT), NORTH
MIAMI FOUNDATION, THE S.E.E.K. FOUNDATION, INC.,
EMPOWERING YOUTH INC., EATWELL AT HOME, AND
NATIONWIDE FOR A TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE
HUNDRED SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED AND
FIFTY-NINE DOLLARS ($162,759.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND THE CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST
RESPECTIVELY, SUB-RECIPIENT AGREEMENTS FOR THIS
PURPOSE IN SUBSTANTIAL FORM AS THAT AGREEMENT,
HERETO ATTACHED AS EXHIBIT "A"; PROVIDING FOR
INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens annually allocates Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the provision of public services (also referred
to as social services) to Miami Gardens’ residents, and
WHEREAS, for the 2022-23 fiscal year a total of $162,759,00.00 is available in the
Public Services category, and
WHEREAS, on September 21, 2022, a Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued,
inviting non-profit, community- based organization to apply for the public service funds,
and
WHEREAS, in response to the RFP, proposals were received from eleven (11)
proposers: Pisgah Pantry, Kristi House, Empowering Youth, Inc, Experts Resource
Community Center, Inc., Sunshine For All, North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizen’s
Services, Inc., S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc, EatWell at Home, Arlington Academy of Miami,
Nationwide Youth Outreach & Athletics, Inc. and Prosperity Social & Community
Development Group, Inc., and
WHEREAS, upon review of the proposals, staff recommends that the City Council
allocate CDBG public service funds to Pisgah Pantry, Kristi House, Empowering Youth,
Inc, Experts Resource Community Center, Inc., Sunshine For All, North Miami Foundation
for Senior Citizen’s Services, Inc., S.E.E.K Foundation, Inc, EatWell at Home, Nationwide
Youth Outreach & Athletics, Inc. and Prosperity Social & Community Development Group,
Inc., and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates fiscal year 2022-2023 Community Development Block Grant (“CDBG”)
public service funds in the amounts not to exceed Twenty Three Thousand Dollars
($23,000.00) to Mt. Pisgah Church, Thirty Thousand Dollars ($30,000.00) to Kristi House,
Inc., Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00) to Experts Resource Community Center,
Inc., Seventeen Thousand and Five Hundred Dollars ($17,500.00) to Sunshine For All,
Inc., Sixteen Thousand Dollars ($16,000.00) to Prosperity Social & Community
Development (Now Project), Eighteen Thousand and Three Hundred Dollars
($18,300.00) to North Miami Foundation, Eighteen Thousand Dollars ($18,000.00) to The
S.E.E.K. Foundation, Inc., Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00) to Empowering
Youth Inc., Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) to Eatwell At Home, and Six Thousand
and Eight Hundred Dollars ($6,800.00) to Nationwide for a total amount not to exceed
One Hundred Sixty-Two Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty-Nine Dollars ($162,759.00),
The City Council further authorizes the City Manager and the City Clerk to execute and
attest respectively, sub-recipient agreements for this purpose in substantial form as that
agreement, hereto attached as Exhibit "A."
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 8, 2023.
