A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AND ATTEST,
RESPECTIVELY, THAT CERTAIN GRANT AGREEMENT WITH
THE UNITED STATES SOCCER FOUNDATION, INC., IN
SUBSTANTIAL FORM, FOR THE SOCCER FOR SUCCESS
PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY
CLERK; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the United States Soccer Foundation, Inc. (“Foundation”) will enter
into a grant agreement with the City of Miami Gardens Parks and Recreation Department
aimed at positively influencing youth within the community through soccer, and
WHEREAS, the grant shall be in the form of cash and / or products, in an amount
equal to Seven Thousand Four Hundred Dollars ($7,400.00) payable over (1) year and
the Program will operate during the Term of the Grant for a total of Twenty-Four (24)
weeks, consisting of two (2) 12-week seasons in accordance with Section 4.1 (e) of the
grant, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens will operate the Soccer Program for 24
weeks in the Program Year, consisting of one Fall and one Spring season and the dates
of operation for each season must be reported by the City to the Foundation, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City
Manager to execute the Soccer for Success Grant Agreement with the United States
Soccer Foundation, Inc.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager and City Clerk to execute and attest, respectively,
that certain Grant Agreement with the United States Soccer Foundation, Inc., in
substantial form, for the Soccer for Success program.
Section 3: INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK: The City Clerk is hereby
authorized to obtain two (2) fully executed copies of the subject Agreement with one to
be maintained by the City, and one to be delivered to The United States Soccer
Foundation, Inc.

Section 4: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 25, 2023.
