A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FOUR THOUSAND
TWO HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR DOLLARS AND FOURTEEN
CENTS ($4,294.14) FROM VICE MAYOR KATRINA WILSON’S
PUBLIC AFFAIRS ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT POSPERITY
BASKETS DISTRIBUTION, NUNC PRO TUNC TO DECEMBER
28, 2022, PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The holidays are filled with traditions, but some families are less
fortunate due to a myriad of circumstances.
WHEREAS, each year, Vice Mayor Wilson prepares prosperity baskets with fixings
for a holiday meal and donates toys to less-fortunate families in the community, and
WHEREAS, on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, Vice Mayor Wilson hosted a
Prosperity Basket distribution at Carol City Park that included traditional foods that African
Americans prepare to ensure a prosperous and blessed New Year.
WHEREAS, Vice Mayor Wilson is requesting the City Council authorize the
allocation of four thousand two hundred and ninety four dollars and fourteen cents
($4,294.14) Nunc Pro Tunc to December 28, 2022 for the Prosperity Baskets Distribution
from the Seat 4 Public Affairs Account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes allocation of four thousand two hungered and ninety four dollars and
fourteen cents ($4,294.14) from the Seat 4 Public Affairs Account Nunc Pro Tunc to
December 28, 2022 for the Prosperity Baskets Distribution.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 25, 2023.
