A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER TO PALMETTO
FORD OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2)
VEHICLES, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLORIDA SHERIFFS
ASSOCIATION BID #FSA22-VEH20 (2022-2023), IN AN
AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED – FOUR
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY-FOUR ($204,554.00);
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on May 17, 2022, Florida Sherriff Association advertised solicitation
titled, FSA22-VEH20.0 – Heavy Trucks and Buses, FSA22-VEL30.0 – Pursuit,
Administrative and Other Vehicles and the effective date of the executed contract is
October 1, 2022 - September 30, 2023, and
WHEREAS, Florida Administrative Code 60A-1.001(2) and Section 1.09 of the
agreement defines eligible purchaser inclusive of municipal governments and represents
that contract prices will be extended and guaranteed throughout the contract to any unit
of local government, and
WHEREAS, the current Public Works—Stormwater Vehicles are from 2006 and
must be replaced due to high mileage, downtime between repairs, transmission issues,
and general wear and tear, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens Public Works Department requests:
1. One (1) 2024 Ford F-750 (F7D) Regular Cab Item 88 (Dump Truck) (Cab -
$56,195.00 and Options $45,688.00) equaling One Hundred One Thousand Eight
Hundred Eighty-Three Dollars ($101,883.00),
2. One (1) 2024 Ford F-750 (F7D) Regular Cab Item 88 (Dump Truck with asphalt
chute) (Cab - $56,195.00 and Options $46,476.00) equaling One Hundred Two
Thousand Six Hundred Seventy-One Dollars ($102,671.00),
for a total cost of Two Hundred Four Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Four Dollars
($204,554.00), and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding to replace the vehicles with newer units will come
from the Stormwater's budget account number 401-41-03-538-640-00, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager
to issue a purchase order to Palmetto Ford of Miami for the purchase of two (2) vehicles,
in accordance with the Florida Sheriffs Association bid, in an amount not to exceed Two
Hundred Four Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Four Dollars ($204,554.00),

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Palmetto Ford of Miami
for the purchase of two (2) vehicles, in accordance with the Florida Sheriffs Association
bid, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Four Thousand Five Hundred Fifty-Four
Dollars ($204,554.00).
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 8, 2023.
