A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNON CAMPBELL'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) TO THE
PROGRESSIVE OFFICERS CLUB'S 25TH ANNUAL
SCHOLARSHIP GALA; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Progressive Officers Club (POC) is a registered non-profit
501(c)(3) organization located in Miami, Florida dedicated to bettering police/community
relations through education, interaction with residents and stakeholders in the community,
and by providing youth scholarships, and
WHEREAS, the POC was founded in 1972 and is composed of sworn and non-
sworn law enforcement personnel within Miami-Dade County, and
WHEREAS, In an effort to support the Progressive Officer's Club, Councilwoman
Shannon Campbell is recommending an allocation of one thousand dollars ($1,000) from
the Seat 1 Public Affairs funds to POC's 25th Scholarship Gala taking place on Saturday,
April 29, 2023,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of one thousand dollars ($1,000) from the Seat 1 Public
Affairs funds to POC's 25th Scholarship Gala taking place on Saturday, April 29, 2023.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 22, 2023.
