A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AWARDING RFQ NO. 22-23-007,
CITYWIDE TOWING AND STORAGE SERVICES, TO KING'S
WRECKER SERVICE, INC.; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT
FOR THIS PURPOSE; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 5, 2022, Request For Qualifications (RFQ) Number 22-
23-007 for Citywide Towing and Storage Services was solicited via BidSync, and
WHEREAS, the RFQ was publicly opened on January 10, 2023, and four firms,
Downtown Towing Company, Inc., Kauffs of Miami, Inc., King's Wrecker Service, Inc.,
and Magic Towing and Recovery, Inc., responded, and
WHEREAS, a Selection Committee meeting was held on January 24, 2023, and
the Committee determined that all four firms were responsive and responsible to the
requirements of the RFQ and deemed King's Wrecker Service, Inc., as the first-ranked
firm after evaluation and scoring, and
WHEREAS, sufficient funding for this expense is available in the Fiscal Year 2023
operating budget, and
WHEREAS, City Staff recommends that the City Council award RFQ No. 22-23-
007, Citywide Towing and Storage Services, to King's Wrecker Service, Inc., and
authorize the City Manager to negotiate and execute an Agreement for this purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby awards RFQ No. 22-23-007, Citywide Towing and Storage Services, to King's
Wrecker Service, Inc. Further, The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens hereby
authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute an Agreement for this purpose.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON MARCH 22, 2023.
