A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
RELY UPON FLORIDA SHERIFF’S ASSOCIATION CONTRACT
#FSA20-EQU18.0- HEAVY EQUIPMENT, TO ISSUE A
PURCHASE ORDER NOT EXCEEDING SEVENTY-ONE
THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED EIGHTY SIX DOLLARS
($71,786.00) TO VERMEER SOUTHEAST SALES & SERVICE
TO PURCHASE HEAVY EQUIPMENT- BRUSH CHIPPER -
TRAILER MOUNTED (2022-2023); PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is in need of a replacement brush
chipper, and
WHEREAS, the current brush chipper is 17 years old and in need of replacement
due to high usage and general wear and tear, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, Code of Ordinances Section 2-
757, the City may enter into competitively solicited contracts, and
WHEREAS, the Florida Sherriff’s Association, pursuant to solicitation and a
procurement process entered into Contract #FSA20-EQU18.0 to purchase heavy
equipment from a plethora of vendors including Vermeer Southeast Sales and Service,
herein attached as Attachment “3”, and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting approval to purchase a brush chipper from vendor
Vermeer Southeast Sales and Services in the amount of Seventy One Thousand Seven
Hundred Eighty Six Dollars ($71,786.00), subject to appropriation of funds, by relying on
Florida Sherriff’s Association Contract # FSA20-EQU18.0, and
Whereas, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to rely
upon Florida Sherriff’s Association Contract #FSA20-EQU18.0 to issue a purchase order
for an amount not to exceed Seventy One Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty Six Dollars
($71,786.00) to Vermeer Southeast Sales and Services for the purchase of heavy
equipment- brush chipper- trailer mounted (2022-2023).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order for an amount not to
exceed Seventy One Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty Six Dollars ($71,786.00) to
Vermeer Southeast Sales and Services by relying on Florida Sherriff’s Association
Contract #FSA20-EQU18.0, subject to appropriation of funding
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 12, 2023.
