A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($2,000.00), FOR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF
REAL ESTATE BROKERS (NAREB) FOR NATIONAL FAIR
HOUSING MONTH; PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the purpose of the National Association of Real Estate Brokers is to
enhance the professional and business conditions of NAREB Realtists members by
strengthening the buying power of emerging target market segments that Realtists serve,
and
WHEREAS, the demographic make-up of Miami Gardens has and will continue to
greatly benefit from the specialized services that NAREB provides, and
WHEREAS, the requested $2,000.00 will serve as a catalyst to ease the barrier to
home ownership in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, the funding will go towards paying closing cost for four homeowners,
in an amount of $500.00, per homeowner, and
WHEREAS, the beneficiary of these funds must purchase a home in Miami
Gardens, no later than September 30, 2023, and
WHEREAS, the property must be homestead as the homeowner’s primary
residence within 30 days from the date of purchase, and
WHEREAS, NAREB must provide the full name, address and phone number of
the homeowner to the City of Miami Gardens, prior to the completion of the purchase,
and
WHEREAS, if the homeowner is found not to be in compliance with residing in the
home as a primary property, a lien shall be place on the property for $500.00, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting an allocation of two thousand
dollars ($2,0000.00) from her Seat 5 Special Events account, to the National Association
of Real Estate Brokers, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Special Events Account
in the amount of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) to the National Association of Real
Estate Brookers.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON APRIL 26, 2023.
