A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEONS’ PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE HUNDRED AND
FIFTY DOLLARS ($550), TO SUPPORT THE COCONUT CAY
ANNUAL GRADUATES PARADE; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Children are the future of our world, making education crucial for
them. Their knowledge is what’s going to keep our world alive and flourishing. A good
education is one of the best opportunities a student has to reach their highest potential.,
and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon believes in empowering students to grow,
learn, and to continue to strive for a brighter future. That being said, Councilman Leon is
requesting the City Council authorize funds to be donated to the. Coconut Cay annual
graduates’ parade for their digital display , and
WHEREAS, The Coconut Cay annual graduates’ parade is an event that focuses
on students’ achievements where they can be acknowledged for their successful
completion of school, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting $550 from his Public Affairs
Special Events account for the purpose of supporting Coconut Cay graduates’ parade.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Seat 2 Public Affairs Special Events Account for Five
Hundred and Fifty dollars ($550), to support Coconut Cay annual graduates parade.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 14, 2023.
