A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ SPECIAL EVENTS/ PUBLIC
AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($3,000) IN SUPPORT OF THE
RUNNING EDGE 305 PARTNERSHIP WITH COUNCILMAN
STEPHENS AND HIS QUARTLERLY WALKS FOR HEALTH;
PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, regular physical activity, like walking, is one of the single-most
important things we can do for both our physical and mental health, and
WHEREAS, The Running Edge is committed to promoting a healthier lifestyle and
building strong communities through running, and
WHEREAS, the Running Edge assists and supports runners of all levels, with
techniques, strategies, best practices, and a positive mindset, in order to meet their
running potential, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Stephens hosts quarterly walks for health to bring
awareness to residents about various health issues while engaging them in physical
activity, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Robert Stephens is requesting funds from his Special
Events/ Public Affairs account in the amount not to exceed $3,000 to support the Running
Edge 305 partnership with Councilman Stephens for his Quarterly Walk for Health series.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation in the amount not to exceed Three Thousand Dollars
($3,000.00) from the Seat 6 Special Events/Public Affairs Account to support the Running
Edge 305 partnership with Councilman Stephens for his Quarterly Walk for Health series.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
