A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNON CAMPBELL’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00) IN SUPPORT OF THE IVY
ROSETTES PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE GAMMA ZETA
OMEGA CHAPTER OF ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC.;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Ivy Rosettes Program is a mentoring program for high school girls
in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and
WHEREAS, The program is sponsored by Gamma Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha
Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and
WHEREASThe Ivy Rosettes Program was founded in 1985. The program’s
curriculum offers a vast cross-section of educational, cultural, social, humanitarian and
altruistic activities, and
WHEREAS, The program is designed to support the development of high school
girls into confident, well-rounded young women who are prepared to succeed in college
and beyond, and
WHEREAS, With the intention of increasing awareness and the development of
our youth, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is requesting to support the Ivy Rosettes
Program, sponsored by the Gamma Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
Incorporated, in an amount not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) from her
Public Affairs Special Events Account, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) from Councilwoman
Shannon Campbell’s Public Affairs Special Events account in support of the the Ivy
Rosettes Program, sponsored by the Gamma Zeta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha
Sorority, Incorporated.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JUNE 14, 2023.
