A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN IGHODARO PUBLIC
AFFAIRS/SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000.00) IN
SUPPORT OF NATIONWIDE YOUTH OUTREACH &
ATHLETICS UNITY IN THE COMMUNITY: A FIGHT AGAINS
GUN VIOLENCE EVENT TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY, JULY 29,
2023; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Nationwide Youth Outreach & Athletics, Inc. is a non-profit
organization that was created to offer Miami Gardens youth an opportunity to excel in
both scholastics and sports by providing mentorship, academic support and sports
development, and
WHEREAS, Nationwide Youth Outreach & Athletics aims to provide support and
guidance in the success of the next generation. Nationwide Youth has now blossomed
into one of the most successful youth organizations & basketball programs in the region,
and
WHEREAS, the organization has become a nationwide community of culture. A
culture where the sole principle is family and love through youth basketball and outreach
programs, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannan Ighodaro is requesting an allocation of two
thousand dollars ($2,000.00) from the Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Account towards
Nationwide Youth Outreach & Athletics, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Events Account in
the amount of two thousand dollars ($2000.00) for Nationwide Youth Outreach & Athletics
Unity in the Community: A Fight Against Gun Violence to held on Saturday, July 29, 2023.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
