A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING B. LEE’S 9TH
ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL BOOK BAG DRIVE; ALLOCATING
TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2000) FROM COUNCILMAN
REGGIE LEON’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS
ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, B. Lee Entertainment, an organization founded in 2012 by Brian Lee,
a Miami Gardens Native, prides itself on giving back to the community, and
WHEREAS, For the Last 9 years B. Lee Entertainment has hosted annual
community events (Back to School Supply/Bookbag Drive, Thanksgiving Turkey Drives
Christmas Bike/Scooter Giveaway and shopping sprees) to support families and pour into
the youth of Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon will be co-sponsoring B. Lee’s 9th Annual
Back to School Drive on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at Betty T. Ferguson Recreational
Complex, 3000 NW 199th St, Miami Gardens, FL 33056, from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to provide the youth in our community with
the tools they need to succeed, and
WHEREAS, by providing book bags and school supplies, it supports students,
teachers and the local schools, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed
the amount of $2,000.00 from his Public Affairs Special Events Account to assist in
purchasing services and goods (i.e., entertainment, refreshments and additional supplies
for the back-to-school drive) and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Seat 2 Public Affairs Special Events Account for Two
Thousand Dollars ($2000), to support B. LEE’S 9TH Annual Back to School Book Bag
Drive to be held on Sunday August 6, 2023.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON.
