A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO RELY UPON MANATEE COUNTY SCHOOL
DISTRICT CONTRACT OF AGREEMENT NO. 21-0053-MR TO
ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
FIVE HUNDRED FIVE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR
DOLLARS ($505,104.00) TO BLISS PRODUCTS, INC, FOR
PLAYGROUND AND FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR BRENTWOOD
PARK; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in April 2014, the City of Miami Gardens residents approved a General
Obligation Bond (GOB) in the amount of Sixty Million Dollars ($60,000,000) for the
construction of and improvements to the City’s parks and related facilities, and
WHEREAS, City Council adopted a Bond Implementation Plan that listed
improvements to be incorporated into each park project which included the renovation of
Brentwood Park, and
WHEREAS, Brentwood Park will be completely renovated to include new
playground and fitness equipment, shade sails and PIP soft surfacing, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City of Miami Gardens, Code of Ordinances Section 2-
757, the City may enter into competitively solicited contracts, and
WHEREAS, the Manatee County School District, pursuant to solicitation and a
procurement process entered into Contract #21-0053-MR to purchase playground and
fitness equipment from Bliss Products and Services Inc., herein attached as Attachment
“5”, and
WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Project Department seeks approval to
purchase playground and fitness equipment from Bliss Products and Services Inc. in the
amount not to exceed Five Hundred Five Thousand One Hundred and Four Dollars
($505,104.00), subject to appropriation of funds, by relying on Manatee County School
District Contract of Agreement No. 21-0053-MR, and
Whereas, staff recommends the City Council authorize the City Manager to rely
upon Manatee County School District Contract of Agreement No. 21-0053-MR to issue a
purchase order for an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Five Thousand One Hundred
and Four Dollars ($505,104.00) to Bliss Products and Services Inc. for the purchase of
playground and fitness equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue a purchase order for an amount not to
exceed Five Hundred Five Thousand One Hundred and Four Dollars ($505,104.00) to
Bliss Products and Services Inc. for the purchase of playground and fitness equipment
by relying on Manatee County School District Contract of Agreement No. 21-0053-MR,
subject to appropriation of funding
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 12, 2023.
