A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS/SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE
HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE DOLLARS AND TWO CENTS
($521.02), TOWARDS THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS POLICE
EXPLORERS PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the Miami Gardens Police Explorers program is a career orientation
and experience program for young people contemplating a career in law enforcement or
a related field in the criminal justice system, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien wishes to cover the cost of a celebratory
dinner for the participants of the program, and
WHEREAS, the mission of the program is to offer young adults in Miami Gardens,
14 years old, that have completed the eighth grade and not yet reached 19 years old, a
personal awareness of the criminal justice system through training, practical experiences,
competition, and other activities, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien is requesting an allocation of five hundred
twenty one dollars and two cents ($521.02) from the Seat 5 Public Affairs account towards
the City of Miami Gardens Police Explorers program, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Public Affairs Account in
the amount of five hundred twenty-one dollars and two cents ($521.02) for the City of
Miami Gardens Police Explorers program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 26, 2023.
