A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS/SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00), TOWARDS ADVANCING
SICKLE CELL ADVOCACY PROJECT, INC.; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Advancing Sickle Cell Advocacy Project (A.S.A.P.), Inc. is a non-profit
organization that serves the citizens of Miami Gardens, with a mission to change the
narrative around the challenges associated with Sickle Cell Disease, and
WHEREAS, A.S.A.P. works to raise awareness, educate the community, and
successfully advocate on behalf of Sickle Cell Disease warriors suffering from this
debilitating condition, and
WHEREAS, A.S.AP. is also dedicated to educating the community, advocating on
behalf of sickle cell warriors, and bridging the gap between the medical community and
sickle cell clients, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien is requesting an allocation of one hundred
dollars ($100.00) from the Seat 5 Public Affairs account Advancing Sickle Cell Advocacy
Project (A.S.A.P.), Inc., and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Public Affairs Account in
the amount of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for Advancing Sickle Cell Advocacy Project
(A.S.A.P.), Inc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 26, 2023.
