A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ SPECIAL EVENTS/ PUBLIC
AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE
HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR DOLLARS ($594) IN SUPPORT OF
GENERATIONAL CURE’S PARTNERSHIP WITH COUNCILMAN
STEPHENS FOR THE 7TH ANNUAL BLACK & WHITE
MASQUERADE GALA; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS TO
THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS Generational Cure is a local, non-profit organization founded in 2011,
as a cross-cultural organization that offers family, group, individual mentoring, and
coaching sessions; and
WHEREAS, their organization was founded as direct result of the acquiescence of
youth underachieving scholastically in addition to their learned violent behavior and poor
moral within in South Florida; and
WHEREAS, Youth and Families who reside in low socio-economic communities
are their target population for mentoring; and
WHEREAS, On Saturday, August 12, 2023, Generational Cure will be hosting its
7th Annual Black & White Masquerade Gala honoring extraordinary youth and raising
funds for their annual end-of-year HBCU tour; and
WHEREAS, Councilman Robert Stephens is requesting in-kind service usage and
fees of the Senior Family Center and paying the associated staffing costs not to exceed,
Five Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars ($594.00) from the Seat 6 Special Events account to
support 7th Annual Black & White Masquerade Gala honoring extraordinary youth.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes in-kind service usage and fees of the Senior Family Center and paying
the associated staffing costs not to exceed, Five Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars ($594.00)
from the Seat 6 Special Events account to support 7th Annual Black & White Masquerade
Gala honoring extraordinary youth

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 26, 2023.
