A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN STEPHENS’ SPECIAL EVENTS/ PUBLIC
AFFAIRS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($2,000) IN SUPPORT OF THE
ENCOURAGING DREAMERS BREAKING BARRIERS, INC AND
THE SHOW SOME LOVE FOUNDATION, INC.; PROVIDING FOR
INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Encouraging Dreamers Breaking Barriers (EDBB), Inc, is a local, non-
for profit, charitable organization that provides opportunities through trainings, job
placement, community, and networking events main, and
WHEREAS, this organization was founded on the basis of removing barriers faced
amongst young people between the ages of 14-25, living in our underprivileged
communities while focusing on mentorship, teaching them to believe in themselves to
make their dreams a reality, and
WHEREAS, the Show Some Love Foundation, Incorporated, is a non-profit
organization that serve those in low-income communities within Miami, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the Show Some Love Foundation, Incorporated, is an organization
that awards students based on their academic achievements, support single-parent
households, and offer scholarships to graduating high school seniors, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Robert Stephens is requesting funds from his Special
Events/ Public Affairs account not to exceed the amount of $2,000 to support the
Encouraging Dreamers Breaking Barriers, Inc. and the Show Some Love Foundation, Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation in the amount not to exceed Two Thousand Dollars
($2,000.00) from the Seat 6 Special Events/Public Affairs Account to support to support
the Encouraging Dreamers Breaking Barriers, Inc. and the Show Some Love Foundation,
Inc.

Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JULY 26, 2023.
