As a result of this, additional patrol vehicles are needed. The current fleet will not support these additional officers. Current marked patrol units are being used by ranking officers.. Current Situation The Florida Sheriffs Association issued a competitive bid for various vehicles and awarded to the lowest, responsive, and responsible vendors in each region of the State. Garber Ford, locted in Green Cove Springs, ITEM J-7) CONSENT AGENDA RESOLUTION P.O. to Garber Ford 1515 NW 167 Street, Building 5 Suite 200 Miami Gardens, Florida 33169 Florida, was awarded the bid for the Ford Fusion Hybrid in the southern region. A Copy of the award announcement is attached as Exhibit “A”. The City of Miami Gardens seeks to purchase needed police fleet vehicles from Garber Ford, in accordance with the Florida Sheriff’s Association competitive bid award. The total amount of the City’s purchase order will be $83,709.00 ($27,903.00 per vehicle), for the purchase of three (3) 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles. This purchase price includes the extended warranties (5 year, 75,000 miles), as well as the administrative lighting packages that is consistent with our unmarked vehicles. The proposed purchased vehicles will be used by ranking officers, who’s marked units will in turn be reassigned to the additional officers. Proposed Action: Staff recommends City Council approval of the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Garber Ford, in an amount of $83,709.00 for the purchase of three (3) 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid vehicles.
