CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ISSUE A PURCHASE ORDER IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED SIXTEEN THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS ($416,326.00),
TO DON REID FORD, FOR THE PURCHASE OF FIFTEEN (15) VEHICLES; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Staff Summary: As discussed during the FY 09‐10
budget workshops the City will need to invest in the purchase of additional and replacement vehicles for various city departments. Vehicles that were approved as part of the Fiscal Year
2010 budget are as follows: Police Department • Fourteen (14) 2010 Police Crown Victoria • Six (6) 2010 Ford Explorers • Two (2) 2010 undercover Police Package Chevrolet Impala’s, •

vehicles listed above, only the purchase of fifteen (15) vehicles are being presented to Council for approval under this agenda item. Fifteen (15) other vehicles are being presented
to Council under separate agenda item (proposed Duval Ford) and the remaining two (2) vehicles were purchased under the City Manager’s authority. Bid #09‐10‐12 was advertised on November
2, 2009. A broadcast notice was sent to 121 vendors. Twenty one (21) vendors requested bid packages. The bids were opened on November 19, 2009. Eight (8) bids were received and publicly
read. A copy of the proposal document and submittals are available at the assistant to the Mayor and Council’s office for review. Staff is recommending award for the purchase of fifteen
(15) vehicles in the amount of $416,326.00, to Don Reid Ford, Maitland, Florida. Proposed Action: That the City Council authorize the City Manager to issue a purchase order to Don Reid
Ford, in the amount of $416,326.00 for Fourteen (14) 2010 Police Ford Crown Victoria, and One (1) 2010 Ford Fusion, which includes extended warranties. Attachment: Attachment A –Bid
