A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE
REGISTRATION FEE FOR SHOPPING CENTERS IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 6, ARTICLE XII, SECTION 6-
381 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens recently adopted Chapter 6, Article XII of
the Code of Ordinances to require shopping centers located in the City to register with
the City to ensure consistent compliance with Code Enforcement guidelines, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Chapter 6, Article XII, Section 6-381, a registration
fee is to be established by separate resolution of the City Council, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager is recommending that the annual registration fee be
set at $500.00, which will assist with offsetting administrative costs involved with the
registrations and monitoring of compliance, and
WHEREAS, as a part of the registration, shopping centers will be required to
include the name and contact information for the owners, as well as the person to contact
in the event the City needs to make contact immediately, and
WHEREAS, Vice-Mayor Katrina Wilson recommends that the Attached Ordinance
be adopted,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby establishes the registration fee for shopping centers in accordance with Chapter
6, Article XII, Section 6-381 of the Code of Ordinances.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2023.
