A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S SEAT 5 PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHT
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($800), NUNC PRO TUNC, IN SUPPORT
OF THE OFF TO COLLEGE ESSENTIALS HELD ON AUGUST
17, 2023; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on August 17, 2023, Councilwoman Julien hosted her annual Off to
College Essentials event at Buccaneer Park, and
WHEREAS, this event is intended to assist young scholars in Miami Gardens that
are venturing off to colleges and universities throughout the state of Florida and abroad
by providing free laptops, microwaves, and refrigerators, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting the City Council approve the
allocation of eight hundred dollars ($800), Nunc Pro Tunc, from the Seat 5 Public Affairs
Special Events Account to cover operating costs associated with this event, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of eight hundred dollars ($800), Nunc Pro Tunc, from the
Seat 5 Public Affairs Special Events Account to cover operating costs associated with the
Off to College Essentials event held on August 17, 2023.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2023.
