A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE DONATION
OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($250) FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S SEAT 5 PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN SUPPORT OF THE
RIVERVIEW CRIME WATCH; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION
OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, Crime watch programs empower communities to work together to
protect their neighborhoods and deter crime. By practicing crime prevention measures,
residents can eliminate opportunities for criminals and help to keep each other safe, and
WHEREAS, in Miami Gardens, active crime watch programs hold monthly
meetings where residents can discuss potential or current problems and share solutions,
and
WHEREAS, crime watch members also volunteer to keep an eye on their
surroundings and report suspicious activity to the police, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is requesting the City Council approve the
allocation of two hundred fifty dollars ($250), in support of the Riverview Crime Watch
group, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of two hundred fifty dollars ($250), in support of the
Riverview Crime Watch.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2023.
