A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS FLORIDA, SUPPORTING NEIGHBORHOOD
CRIME WATCH PROGRAMS IN THE RESIDENTIAL AREA 3;
AUTHORIZING A TOTAL DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF
FOURTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS (14,000.00) WITH THREE
THOUSAND AND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,500.00) EACH
TO BUNCHE PARK, SCOTT LAKES, RAINBOW PARK,
CRESTVIEW/ROLLING OAKS CRIME& NEIGHBORHOOD
WATCH PROGRAMS FROM COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN
"LADY" IGHODARO'S SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, crime watch programs allow communities to come together to take
responsibility for their neighborhoods and prevent crime, and
WHEREAS, the active crime watch programs in the City of Miami Gardens
organize monthly meetings where residents voice concerns or solutions for potential or
current problems, and
WHEREAS, members volunteer to maintain awareness of their surroundings, and
WHEREAS, in an effort to support the local organizations that help reduce crime
in our community Councilwoman Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro would like to make a donation
of $3,500.00 each to Bunche Park, Scott Lake, Rainbow Park, and Crestview/Rolling
Oaks Crime & Neighborhood Watch Programs from Seat 3 Special Events Account,
totaling $14,000.00,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports Neighborhood Crime Watch Programs in the residential area 3. The City
Council further authorizes a total donation in the amount of Fourteen Thousand Dollars
(14,000.00) with Three Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($3,500.00) each to Bunche
Park, Scott Lakes, Rainbow Park, Crestview/Rolling Oaks Crime& Neighborhood Watch
Programs from Councilwoman Shannan "Lady" Ighodaro's Special Events Account.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
