A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEONS’ PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($4,000.00), TO SUPPORT MIAMI NORLAND
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL BAND PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Miami Norland Senior High School band program has been a
fundamental part of the school and community, providing students with countless
opportunities to engage in a meaningful program committed to musical excellence. The
Miami Norland Senior High School band program has had a long tradition of of great
bands gaining state and national recognition. Funds donated will be used to assist with
various things such as transportation to competitions, the purchase of new band
equipment and supplies, as well as improve the overall learning environment for band
students, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon believes in providing opportunities for the
youth and supporting the dreams and exposure of young and talented minds. Councilman
Leon knows that this exposure will open their minds to unlimited possibilities in life, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed
four thousand dollars ($4000) from his Public Affairs Special Events account for the
purpose of supporting Miami Norland Senior High School Band Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Seat 2 Public Affairs Special Events Account for four
thousand dollars ($4000.00), to support Miami Norland Senior High School Band
Program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2023.
