A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEONS’ PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND
ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,100.00), TO SUPPORT THE
BUNCHE PARK OPTIMIST FOOTBALL PROGRAM; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Bunche Park optimist football program has been an essential part
of the community, promoting physical activity, teamwork, discipline and sportsmanship
among the youth. The Bunche Park optimist football program provides a platform for skill
development and a sense of belonging, fostering social interaction. Aditionally, such
programs create a strong community bond and teach a valuable life skills that extend
beyond the field. The funding will provide Bunche Park’s optimist football program with
the opportunity to provide meals to players, assist with uniforms and equipment, and
contribute to the homecoming celebration, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is committed to supporting youth programs.
Councilman Leon knows that having such programs will encourage healthy growth and
development of the youth in the community, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed
one thousand one hundred dollars ($1,100) from his Public Affairs Special Events account
foin support of Bunche Park optimist football program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Seat 2 Public Affairs Special Events Account for one
thousand one dollars ($1,100.00), to support Bunche Park optimist football program.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2023.
