A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA,
ALLOCATING EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED ($8,500)
FROM VICE MAYOR KATRINA WILSON’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS
ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES
AND RESIDENTIAL SEAT 4 EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES,
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Each year, Vice Mayor Wilson leads the charge to make a meaningful
impact on the community by supporting several community and educational initiatives that
support the positive growth and development of residents of all ages and backgrounds,
and
WHEREAS, the following community and educational initiatives will each receive
a donation; Community Holiday Prosperity Baskets ($5,000), Myrtle Grove K-8 Center
Toy Drive ($1,500), Miami Carol City High School ($1,000) and the 8th Annual District 1
Black History Showcase ($1,000), and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby approve the total allocation of $8,500 from Vice Mayor Katrina Wilson’s Special
Events account to support community and educational initiatives.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2023.
