A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN “LADY” IGHODARO PUBLIC
AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT OF
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00) IN SUPPORT OF A
THANKSGIVING TURKEY GIVE-A-WAY PARTNERSHIP WITH
RE-ENTRY ONE INC.; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, many Miami Gardens residents and households are experiencing
hopelessness and hardships during this time of Thanksgiving, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannan “Lady” Ighodaro is seeking approval of the
City Council to sponsor the purchase of turkeys, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Ighodaro will partner with Re-Entry One Inc. to assist
residents in Miami Gardens with Turkeys for Thanksgiving, and
WHEREAS, Re-Entry One Inc. is a grassroots non-profit organization specializing
in filling the service gaps for returning citizens transitioning home in Florida, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Ighodaro is requesting to utilize five thousand dollars
($5,000.00) from the Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Events Account towards the expenses
associated with this Turkey give-a-way, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Councilwoman Shannan “Lady” Ighodaro Seat 3 Public
Affairs Special Events Account in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to
support the Thanksgiving Turkey Give-A-Way hosted by Councilwoman Shannan “Lady”
Ighodaro in conjunction with REENTRY ONE.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2023.
