A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNAN “LADY” IGHODARO’S PUBLIC
AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT OF
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000) IN SUPPORT OF THE
MIAMI GARDENS VETERANS AFFAIRS COMMITTEE
OPERATION VETERANS STAND DOWN EVENT; PROVIDING
FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 13, 2017, the City of Miami Gardens City Council
approved Ordinance No. 2017-14-378, establishing the Miami Gardens Veterans Affairs
Committee, and
WHEREAS, in collaboration with the City of Miami Gardens, the Miami Gardens
Veterans Affairs Committee will host an Operations Veterans Stand Down Event on
November 9, 2023, at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreation Complex, and
WHEREAS, this community event aims to provide essential services and
assistance to Miami Gardens' veteran population, free of charge, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon "Lady" Ighodaro is requesting approval for
the allocation of one thousand dollars from the Seat 3 Public Affairs Special Event
Account in support of the Miami Gardens Veterans Affairs Committee Operations
Veterans Stand Down Event,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize the allocation of one thousand dollars ($1,000) from the Seat 3 Public
Affairs Special Event Account in support of the Miami Gardens Veterans Affairs
Committee Operations Veterans Stand Down Event.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 2023.
