A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN SHANNON CAMPBELL’S PUBLIC AFFAIRS
SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT OF FIVE
HUNDERED DOLLARS ($500.00) TO PURCHASE TURKEYS
FOR ANTIOCH MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH’S
THANKSGIVING TURKEY GIVEAWAY FOR CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS RESIDENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church is hosting their Annual
Thanksgiving Food Distribution on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
WHEREAS, the purpose of this event is to distribute at least 500 food baskets to
households in need, and
WHEREAS, with the rise of inflation many households are experiencing
hopelessness and hardship, therefore Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is seeking the
approval of the City Council to sponsor the purchase of non-perishable food items and
turkeys for City of Miami Gardens residents who will benefit from this event, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Shannon Campbell is requesting that the City Council
authorize the allocation five hundred dollars ($500.00) from the Seat 1 Public Affairs
Special Events account in support of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church Thanksgiving
Turkey Giveaway.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the allocation five hundred dollars ($500.00) from the Seat 1 Public
Affairs Special Events account to purchase turkeys for Antioch Missionary Baptist Church
Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway for City of Miami Gardens' residents.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 25, 2023.
