A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION
OF EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS AND EIGHTY-NINE
CENTS ($860.89) FROM COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S
SEAT 5 PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL EVENTS ACCOUNT IN
SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS POLICE
ATHLETIC LEAGUE (PAL) OPEN HOUSE; PROVIDING FOR
THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on June 12, 2019, the City Council of the City of Miami Garden
approved Resolution No. 2019-137-3266 authorizing the establishment of the City of
Miami Gardens Police Athletic League (PAL) program, and
WHEREAS, Miami Gardens PAL seeks to strengthen the community through
positive relationships between local law enforcement and the youth population of the city,
and
WHEREAS, the Miami Gardens PAL will help develop tomorrow's leaders through
education, athletics, teen leadership programs, and community outreach in an effort to
build a stronger community, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Julien is recommending the City Council approve the
attached Resolution allocating eight hundred sixty dollars and eighty-nine cents ($860.89)
from the Seat 5 Public Affairs Special Events Account in support of the City of Miami
Gardens PAL Open House.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorize allocating eight hundred sixty dollars and eighty-nine cents ($860.89)
from the Seat 5 Public Affairs Special Events Account in support of the City of Miami
Gardens Police Athletic League (PAL) Open House.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 25, 2023.
