A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING EIGHT THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($8,000) FROM COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEON’S
FORMULA ONE COMMUNITY FUND ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT
COMMUNITY HOLIDAY AND EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES;
PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE
WHEREAS, Annually, Councilman Reggie Leon spearheads efforts to create a
significant difference in the community, backing various educational and community
initiatives that promote the positive progress and advancement of individuals from all
walks of life and age groups, and
WHEREAS, the following community and educational initiatives will each receive
a donation; B. Lee Annual Bike Giveaway ($1,000), Holiday Greeting Cards ($3,500),
31st Annual Dr. MLK Scholarship Breakfast ($1,000), and the 1st Annual Family Cookout
at the Poetry Potluck ($2,500) , and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed
eight thousand dollars ($8,000) from his Formula One Community fund account for the
purpose of supporting community holiday and educational initiatives,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby[LW1] allocates funds from Seat 2 Formula One Community fund account for eight
thousand dollars ($8,000.00), to support Community Holiday and Educational initiatives,
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2023.
