A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S SEAT 5 FORMULA ONE
COMMUNITY BENEFIT ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT OF SEVEN
THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED TWENTY DOLLARS AND
TWENTY-ONE CENTS ($7,320.21), NUNC PRO TUNC, FOR
THE MIAMI FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL GIVE MIAMI DAY;
PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, one of the nation's biggest 24-hour annual giving events, Give Miami
Day is an online campaign where all locals are philanthropists donate to non-profit
organizations, and
WHEREAS, on November 16, 2023 the entire community was invited to explore
the online profiles of hundreds of Miami-Dade nonprofits who are limited with resources
and staff but always find a way to provide the supplies, services, and support our
resident’s needs, and
WHEREAS, since 2012, Give Miami Day has raised millions of dollars in charitable
donations, and
WHEREAS, the Miami Foundation hosts the annual online initiative as part of its
mission to increase local philanthropy and provide community engagement opportunities
for every Miamian, and
WHEREAS, therefore, Councilwoman Julien is recommending that the City of
Miami Gardens approve the allocation of $7,320.21 from her Seat 5 Formula One
Community Benefit Account to support this cause,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Seat 5 Formula One
Community Benefit Account in the amount of seven thousand three hundred twenty
dollars and twenty-one cents ($7,329.21) for Give Miami Day.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
