A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS TO
ENVIROWASTE SERVICES GROUP INC IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS
($200,000.00) ANNUALLY BY RELYING ON THE TOWN OF
DAVIE COMPETITIVELY SOLICITED CONTRACT NUMBER
#ITB-RM-2020, A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT “A”; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, in 2005 the City took over the stormwater management from Miami-
Dade County, and
WHEREAS, the County turned over to the City thousands of drainage structures
located throughout the City, and
WHEREAS, the City has two vacuum truck crews cleaning and maintaining the
drainage systems throughout the City, these are insufficient to adequately serve the City's
overall drainage system needs and additional resources are needed, as the network of
drainage structures has been a lot to maintain in full compliance with State guidelines,
and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida requires that an annual report is submitted to the
State which include all the drainage activities that are completed by the City, and
WHEREAS, the most recent State drainage audit report discussed that the City
needs to catch up with its stormwater activities and cleaning of drains; therefore, by
utilizing the Town of Davie competitively solicited contract with Envirowaste Services
Group, Inc. it will provide the City with additional capacities to achieve the City’s goal of
adequate maintenance of the City's drainage system and cleaning of the stormwater
underground structures and piping, and
WHEREAS, this activity will also pro-actively address and minimize flooding in
certain areas in the City,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.

Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby authorizes the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Envirowaste Services
Group, Inc. in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($200,000.00)
annually by relying on the Town of Davie competitively solicited contract number #ITB-
RM-2020, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit “A”.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.

AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 13, 2023.
