A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE ALLOCATION
OF TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY DOLLARS
($2,120.00) FROM MAYOR RODNEY HARRIS' SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT TO COVER SERVICES PROVIDED BY
LONCHA MUSIC FOR THE MIAMI DADE COUNTY LEAGUE OF
CITIES MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 2, 2023,
NUN PRO TUNC. PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Mayor Rodney Harris is requesting an allocation of Two Thousand
One Hundred and Twenty Dollars ($2,120.00) from his Special events account to cover
services provided by Loncha Music for sound monitors, lighting and microphones, nun
pro tunc, and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Gardens hosted its first ever Miami-Dade County
League of Cities meeting in the City of Miami Gardens on Thursday, November 2, 2023,
at our beautiful Senior Family Center, and
WHEREAS, this meeting provided an opportunity for municipal leaders from
Miami-Dade County, State representatives and various business owners to visit and hear
about the great developments happening in Miami Gardens, and
WHEREAS, at the event, attendees experienced an important presentation from
the City of Miami Gardens' planning and zoning director that highlighted the city's strategic
approach regarding economic development, best practices and how it has contributed to
the city's rapid growth and fiscal sustainability, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby support the request for allocation of $2,120.00 dollars from Mayor Rodney Harris’
Special events account #001-12-02-512-492-00 to cover cost for services for sound
monitors, lighting and microphones, nun pro tunc.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
