A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING ONE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($1,000) FROM COUNCILMAN REGGIE LEON’S
FORMULA ONE COMMUNITY FUND ACCOUNT TO SUPPORT
THE ROBER SHARP TOWERS TENANTS SOCIAL CLUB EAST
AND WEST BUILDINGS; PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF
REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Robert Sharp Towers is a low-income senior independent living
facility. This facility fosters a family environment for seniors to feel welcome and safe. The
Robert Sharp Towers Tenants Social Club needs monthly social activities, snacks, and
supplies for holiday celebrations, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon believes that we need to foster the mental
and physical well being of seniors.
WHEREAS, Councilman Leon believes that providing assistance for seniors to
participate in extracurricular activities will cultivate and nurture their independence and
growth where they will not have to worry about covering the cost themselves on a fixed
income, and
WHEREAS, Councilman Reggie Leon is requesting a sponsorship not to exceed
one thousand dollars ($1,000) from his Formula One Community fund account for the
purpose of supporting The Robert Sharp Towers Tenants Social Club East and West
Buildings,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby allocates funds from Seat 2 Formula One Community fund account for one
thousand dollars ($1,000.00), to support The Robert Sharp Towers Tenants Social Club
East and West Buildings
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI GARDENS
AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 24, 2024.
