A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA, ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM
COUNCILWOMAN LINDA JULIEN'S PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIAL
EVENTS ACCOUNT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX
HUNDRED AND SEVENTY DOLLARS ($670.00), NUNC PRO
TUNC IN SUPPORT OF THE LITTLE RED DRESS EVENT
HONORING COMMUNTY MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR
ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS; PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 16, 2023 the Dade County Alumnae Chapter
of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated held their Little Red Dress, Honoring Leaders
in the Community event, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the honorary event was to not only recognize leaders
making an impact in Dade County at-large, but to also raise funds to the chapter's
scholarships and community programs, and
WHEREAS, Councilwoman Linda Julien supported this cause and is requesting
that her charitable contribution not to exceed six hundred and seventy dollars ($670) to
be allocated, nunc pro tunc, from her Public Affairs Special Events account, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI GARDENS, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: ADOPTION OF REPRESENTATIONS: The foregoing Whereas
paragraphs are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true, and the same are hereby
made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: AUTHORIZATION: The City Council of the City of Miami Gardens
hereby supports allocation of funds from Councilwoman Julien’s Public Affiars Special
Events Account in the amount not to exceed six hundred and seventy dollars ($670) in
support of The Little Red Dress, Honoring Leaders in the Community event.
Section 3: EFFECTIVE DATE: This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon
its final passage.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
GARDENS AT ITS REGULAR MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 14, 2024.
